What is the UV index?
The UV index measures the intensity of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation. The higher it is, the more appropriate protection is needed, even under partly cloudy skies.
Risk levels
An index below 3 is low. From 3 to 5, moderate protection is recommended. From 6 onwards, seek shade and use a hat, sunglasses and appropriate sun protection.
